Chalford Oaks
In the summer this beautiful garden makes the perfect backdrop for entertaining friends and family.
A Childrens’ lawn area is divided from the main garden by what appears to be a natural stream populated by frogs, newts, and fish. This is forded by a wooden bridge.
Crossing over the sleeper bridge into the central area, a natural stone pathway gradually dissolves into a gravelled area. This is bordered by reclaimed granite setts.
In this area a unique handmade dry stone wall bench was made by Chris from blue slate found on site and topped with a sleeper seat. Eventually the climbing hydrangeas (Hydrangea petiolaris) will create a secluded arbour around this perch.
At night time ambient lighting is provided by four sentinel lights on plinths. Made from chunky timber and woven steel strapping, these were conceived and made especially for this garden by Chris Eves Garden Design.
The planting scheme is informal with climbing roses cascading around the edges and each season has its colour with carefully chosen specimens that will provide year-round interest.
